  • 2nd through 5th grades
  • 6th-8th grades
  • and high school.

Book Gift TreeTHE BOOK GIFT TREE PROJECT
November 1-November 30
The Children’s Library has its own “Book Gift Tree” growing in the hall near the story hour rooms. Choose a leaf with the age of a child, and bring a new, unwrapped book and the leaf back to the Children’s Library by November 30. The books collected will be given to the Addison Switchboard for their Christmas drive. Beginning December 1, snowflakes that include the donors’ names will be added to the Tree.

Last year participants shared the joy of reading with 105 children, which meant more leaves had to be added to the tree. It will be absolutely wonderful if that happens again this year!

TOY/CLOTHING FOR CHILDREN TREE
This year the Library will again participate in the Addison Switchboard’s Christmas drive by collecting toys and/or clothing for children in Addison. About November 15, a small tree will be placed in the lobby area and decorated with tags Switchboard provides.

Choose a tag with a child’s age and size and purchase one or more gifts for that child. The number of tags you choose and the number of gifts you provide for each child is up to you.

Please write what is in each package on the back of the tag and attach the tag to the wrapped gift. These gifts may be returned to any Library service desk.

Gifts cannot be accepted after Sunday, December 12th. The Switchboard will pick up the gifts on December 13.

BOARD OF TRUSTEE ELECTION
There is still time to become a candidate for one of the three Addison Public Library Trustees positions, which will be elected in the Consolidated General Election on April 5, 2011. Each of these positions is for a six year term. Packets are available at Village Hall, 1 Friendship Plaza. The filing period is December 13-20, 2010.

Prior to filing, A Candidates’ Guide for 2010, issued by the State Board of Elections, is available from the Village Clerk, Lucille Zucchero, or the State Board of Elections Web site.
