We are happy to help you find the perfect book, start researching a paper, find information online, set up your eReader, or answer just about any question you might have. Just stop by the desk and ask! Our services are completely free. If you're unable to visit us, you can have library items delivered to you for free!
Everyone is welcome to read a magazine or check email in our library’s quietest space, the Silent Reading Room. Located on the second floor in the northeast corner, our Silent Reading Room is open to people of any age during normal library hours. Additionally, the entire north side of the second floor is also reserved to patrons seeking the traditional quiet library environment. Cell phones and computers are allowed if set to silent.
Several Addison Public Library staff members are public notaries. These notaries may only attest signatures; no other form of notary service will be provided. The document being notarized must be signed in front of the notary. The person receiving this service must provide a photo ID.
The Village Clerk's office provides full-service voter registration and the library helps supplement this service. Since the Addison Public Library's voter registrars are limited in number, there may be times when no one is available to perform this service. Whenever possible, our staff members will register any qualified DuPage County resident who can provide two forms of ID (at least one should contain a current address). If you are a naturalized citizen, you must provide your date of citizenship.
Whether you are a new Addison resident or part of a curious community group, we'd love to have you at the library. Anyone may ask for a brief tour in English whenever they are at the library or set up a formal tour in advance. Tours can also be arranged in Spanish and Polish. Just call 630.458.3334.
Our librarians host two book discussion groups per month. One, the Book Bunch, meets on the first Tuesday of the month here at the library at 7:00 PM. The other, Between the Lines, meets at the Addison Park District's Community Park building at 10:00 AM on the third Monday of the month as part of the Active Adults Senior Club. Both groups discuss a variety of genres. See what we're reading.
