Patrons are liable for all damage to library materials checked out on their account, except where such damage is determined to be the result of normal wear and tear. Library staff will determine if the item must be replaced or withdrawn. Damaged items that cannot be returned to the shelf are considered lost and patrons will be charged for replacement in accordance with Lost Items (Circulation Policy #4040). A processing fee of $5.00 will be charged for damaged items that can be repaired and returned to the shelf.
