Library Director Mary Medjo Me Zengue Completes the Certified Public Library Administrator Program

Addison Public Library Director Mary Medjo Me Zengue recently completed the national certification program for library administrators. She is one of 28 graduates from the first post-MLS national certification program sponsored by the American Library Association-Allied Professional Association. With this certification Mary is recognized as a leader in the field.


To become certified, Mary completed seven Certified Public Library Administrator Program (CPLA) approved courses.

The certification requires four core courses

• personnel management
• budget and finance
• management of technology
• planning and management of buildings

and three electives

• fundraising and grantsmanship
• serving diverse populations
• current trends and issues.
