Mary Cassatt Exhibit Open
January 28, 2011
The library is hosting a Teacher’s Discovery Traveling Exhibit featuring the fascinating paintings of American artist Mary Cassatt. Giant reproductions are on display in the library's meeting room from Friday, January 28, through Sunday, February 13. The exhibit celebrates Cassatt, the only American painter to exhibit with the French Impressionists!

Several activities are planned to coordinate with the exhibit.
- On January 31, art historian Jeff Mishur will present a program, Mary Cassatt: An American Impressionist in Paris, about the art and life of Cassatt. He will show images of her works to enhance his presentation. To register online for this program, click here.
- On February 10, actress Lynn Rymarz will become Mary Cassatt and follow her life's jouney from childhood to becoming the artist she always wanted to be. This program, Meet Mary Cassatt: An American Artist, is cosponsored by the Addison Art Guild. To register online for this program, click here.
- Books about Mary Cassatt are in the meeting room for you to enjoy and check out.
Hopefully, you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to learn more about this great American artist.
