Artist for July: Robert Kwas
July 01, 2011
Robert Kwas's oil paintings and watercolors are on display this month on the art wall across from the elevator on the 2nd floor. When you are in the library, take a few moments to appreciate the works of this talented artist.

After a long career as an advertising art director and graphic designer in Chicago, Robert Kwas began to paint full-time. His work combines two life-long loves: nature and art. Painting nature the way he feels it, he hopes the viewer will see it in a new light.
Much of this artist’s work reflects his being born and raised in Wisconsin with early exposure to its natural beauty and farm scenes. Robert began his training with private lessons from H. H. Smithers at age 9. He attended the University of Wisconsin/Racine and graduated from the American Academy of Art, where he studied with William Mosby and Irving Shapiro.
He has exhibited nationally and has received numerous awards in area art fairs and exhibits. His work appears in private and corporate collections in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Florida and New Mexico.
Robert teaches watercolor at the Oak Park Art League and is a member of the Addison Art Guild.
