Video Games Are Here!
July 18, 2011
The Addison Public Library has added Video Games to the materials you can check out! Thanks to a generous donation from the Friends of the Addison Public Library, this collection is now available. The rules for circulation are similar to those for new feature-film DVDs.
The library has two collections of video games: adult and children. In both locations, you will find games for the Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, Wii, XBOX 360, and PlayStation 3 (PS3). Anyone can check out any game regardless of rating. If a game needs a special controller, guitar, or other device, you must supply your own.
Video games usually have tutorials to teach you how to use different controls, and some even have the traditional instruction booklet saved on the disc for you to read.
What are the rules for checking out videogames?
• 1 week checkout
• $2/day late fee
• 1 renewal available if no holds on the item
• 1 game per person
• Non-Addison library card holders are welcome to come to APL and check them out.
How do you check them out?
• The empty cases will be out on display for you to browse.
• You take the empty case to the Circulation Desk; check outs on the self-check machines are not allowed.
• The Circulation Staff retrieves the game and puts it in its case and checks it out for you.
