The new gates are in, the self-check machines have been upgraded, and the materials handling system is being installed and will be working soon! We hope you will bear with us as we transition to this new RFID system.
When the system is complete most items will be automatically checked in when they are dropped through the return slots inside the library. Once checked in, items will be sorted into bins by type and location. Materials will be back on the shelves much faster. A new portable device will help us track inventory of various collections, locate lost and missing items, and ensure that everything is in proper order on the shelves. Library staff will be redirected to more customer-focused services.
We’re very excited about these changes that will improve our service. Once the system is up and running, you will see how quickly items are checked in and get back on the shelves!
