Artist of the Month: Kids Art at the Henry Hyde Resource Center
May 08, 2012
The month's art work was made by children participating in an after-school art class at the Henry Hyde Resource Center. This beautiful collage is on display on the art wall across from the elevator on the 2nd floor.

The Henry Hyde Resource Center’s mission is to empower families and individuals by providing opportunities to enrich relationships, access resources, and develop the skills needed to enhance education, foster personal growth and become active members of the Addison Community.
This Henry Hyde Resource Center class is one of 12 Kids Art programs throughout DuPage County supported by People’s Resource Center. Through its Kids Art program, People’s Resource Center seeks to promote creative self-expression and increased self-esteem among 5-16-year-old, economically disadvantaged youth in partnership with after school programming in neighborhood centers across DuPage County. Providing access to art education experiences, dedicated space, caring and compassionate teachers, and art materials, Kids Art challenges young people to envision and shape new possibilities for themselves. Through Kids Art, children are given a voice, encouragement, opportunities for public acknowledgment of their work, and a chance to find their inner creativity.
Since 1975, People’s Resource Center has been bringing neighbors together to respond to hunger and poverty in DuPage County. With a team of over 1,000 volunteers, we offer nutritious food and other basic necessities like clothes and rent assistance for people facing tough times. And we connect people with resources—education and tutoring, jobs, technology, art, a caring community—to create a future of hope and opportunity for all.
