Photo Contest: Addison Remembered
June 28, 2012
To help celebrate the library's 50th anniversary, the Addison Historical Society and the Friends of the Addison Public Library are sponsoring a photo contest. If you have taken a photo or see something that captures the spirit of Addison, it is perfect for submitting. Applications forms are available at the public service desks and the historical museum.
Submit photos by Saturday, September 1, 5 pm
If you have taken a photo that represents something in Addison, it might be perfect for submission. However, older
photos can also be entered. For example, when your favorite baseball player is picking dandelions rather than following the game, it may sum up youth sports for you.
- There are two divisions: youth (through the age of 18 years) and adult (everyone else).
- Each division has three prizes:
- $75 for first place
- $50 for second place
- $25 for third place
- To enter you must be an Addison resident and submit a printed photo that is at least 5 by 7 inches.
- Each entry must be marked with the Addison location, names of those pictured, and date the photo was taken.
Pick up an entry form and submit photos at the library or the Addison Historical Museum 135 Army Trail Road. You can also download one. The last date photos will be accepted is Saturday, September 1, at 5 pm.
Winners will be announced at the library’s “Addison Remembered” program on Thursday, September 27, at 7 pm. Three local photographers will serve as judges. All the photos submitted will be on display at the library program. They then become the property of the Addison Historical Museum.
