Jan Dunteman is an award winning artist who is currently working in oil pastel and dry pastel. She has been called a "colorist" for her use of color in her work. She describes her work as impressionistic rather than realistic. She works from her photographs to begin a painting and puts her own impressions into the picture. Landscapes and florals are her favorite subjects. She credits classes with notable artists George Shipperley and Anne VonEhr for giving her confidence and inspiration.
