Privacy Policy

The Addison Public Library recognizes our patrons’ right to privacy and thus considers all patron records to be confidential information. The library reviews patron records on an “as needed” basis, and it is the library’s policy that as permitted by law, patron records that are no longer needed are deleted. The library does not share patron information except with the library’s collection agency, as required by law, or by court order. The library complies with the Library Records Confidentiality Act. 

 

The Addison Public Library website gathers general statistical information regarding the number of patrons accessing various areas of our site, but information does not identify individual users. This information is used by the library to improve our website for our patrons based on these general usage patterns.
