Faxing at the Addison Public Library

• The Library offers outgoing fax service for library patrons.

• A self-service scan-to-fax machine is available on the first floor and on the second floor.

• The machine accepts only cash for faxing.

• Staff can assist you with learning how to use scan-to-fax.

• No incoming faxes can be received. (as of 5/2013, faxes can be received at the Jewel-Osco, call for information 630-543-0521)

Photocopy Machines

The Library provides for public use:

• Children's Services: 1 SimpleScan machine that can scan-to-print, scan-to-fax, scan-to-email, scan-to-flashdrive, scan-to-GoogleDocs (you must have a pre-existing GoogleDocs account), and scan-to-smartphone/tablet. This SimpleScan machine is connected to a black and white printer only.

• Adult Services:  1 SimpleScan machine that can scan-to-print, scan-to-fax, scan-to-email, scan-to-flashdrive, scan-to-GoogleDocs (you must have a pre-existing GoogleDocs account), and scan-to-smartphone/tablet. This SimpleScan machine has a document feeder, is connected to a black and white or color printer, and has a larger selection of paper sizes than the machine located in the Children's Services Department. 

Charges:

• 10¢ per page for black and white

• 50¢ per page for color

Library staff will provide basic instruction in the use of scan-to-fax machines, but cannot provide copy service.

Refunds are made for machine malfunction only, not for patron error.

The copyright law of the United States (Title U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies of copyrighted materials.

The person using the copier is liable for any infringement.
