Q. Was a similar study conducted prior to the work conducted in 2016, and if so, what is the status of that plan?
A. Yes, a needs assessment and reconfiguration plan was completed in 2015 followed by a renovation of public areas that was completed in 2016.
Q. Do any of the other scopes of work reflect unfinished work from 2016?
A. No.
Q. Would you explain the relationship between the expansion study and other portions of the project? Is the intent to conduct the expansion study first to help validate the other projects, or are the priorities independent of each other?
A. Expansion is an option the Library will consider if it’s determined to be the best way to accomplish the other items outline in the scope of work such as improvement to traffic flow, improvements to staff work areas, and addressing patron service challenges.
Q. To address the question of timeline for completing the project, does the library anticipate funding the capital projects through its FY2022?
A. The Library’s goal is to accomplish the project by utilizing our existing capital reserve funds. The Library’s fiscal year begins on May 1 and ends on April 30 each year. We have appropriated enough money to begin the project during the current fiscal year that will end on April 30, 2022. It is anticipated that the project may continue into FY2023.
