Guest Services Clerk 

Part-time, non-exempt; see schedule below

Salary: $13.01 -19.51/hr; $16.26 is the mid-point of the range and reserved for candidates with direct, significant experience. 

We’re looking for someone to join our Guest Services team! Guest Services staff are the keystone of our patrons’ library experiences. You are the professional who greets them with warmth when they come through the door and welcomes them to our library. You are knowledgeable about all the library, what services each department provides, and what products and programs each patron might find interesting.  

We’re looking for someone who is 

  • A real “people person”, enthusiastic, caring, friendly, and empathetic 
  • A team player who thinks quickly on their feet as decisions need to be made 
  • Excited to learn, grow, and change 
  • A self-starter with the initiative and courage to propose new ideas 
  • An excellent communicator (speaking and listening) with almost everyone you meet

Primary duties include 

  • Provide gracious and friendly customer service. 
  • Performs library material check-in, check outs, and renewals in accordance with established library policies and procedures. 
  • Register patrons for library cards. 
  • Monitor lobby and café to ensure patrons experience safe and welcoming spaces. 


  • High school diploma or equivalency. 
  • One-year work experience with the general public. 

Bilingual (English/Spanish) speakers are strongly encouraged to apply.

Creative Services Coordinator

Full-time, exempt; requires evenings and weekends

Salary: $46,006 – 69,009; $57,507 is the mid-point of the range and reserved for candidates with direct, significant experience.

Through our Creative Studio services, the Addison Public Library seeks to engage patrons and staff with a variety of technologies in useful, creative, and fun ways that enrich their lives.  

The Creative Services Coordinator needs to be: 

  • Enthusiastic about providing and expanding makerspace services 
  • Passionate about customer service and patient with people at different ability levels 
  • Excellent presentation skills for groups of all sizes and ages 
  • Collaborative with other staff and patrons
