February 15–21 is National Random Acts of Kindness Week! This month in Youth Services, you’ll find a special book poster display created by Miss Tina, one of our Youth Services Specialists, featuring stories all about kindness. Stop by to explore titles that celebrate empathy, friendship, and caring for others.
Looking to keep the kindness going beyond February? We’ve gathered some book suggestions and simple activities you can try at home to inspire kindness all year long.
Activities that kids can do:
- Sit with a new friend at lunchtime.
- Help a classmate.
- Draw a picture for a friend.
- Give compliments.
- Donate a toy.
- Make a thank you card for people who help you every day.
- Say hi to someone.
- Share your favorite book with someone.
- Hold the door open for someone.
- Smile at everyone!
