APL Social Services Specialist Wins 2025 ILA Award

The Addison Public Library is proud to announce that Yesenia Benavidez, our Social Services Specialist, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Illinois Library Association Crosman Memorial Award for New Library Workers.

This award recognizes the achievements of the library workers who are new or relatively new to the field and encourages continued involvement in the profession. Other awards honor those who have accomplished a great deal over a long period of time; this award is to honor people who have accomplished a great deal in a short time. The Crosman Memorial Award for New Library Workers is presented by the ILA Awards Committee and Dominican University SOIS in memory of Alex Crosman, former director of the Peoria Public Library.

Join us in celebrating Yesenia's achievements and learn more about her impactful work:

This year's ILA awards will be presented at a ceremony during the 2025 Illinois Library Association Annual Conference. The conference will take place October 14-16, 2025, in Rosemont, Illinois.

Congratulations to all of the winners, at our library and across the state of Illinois! To see a full list of this year's ILA Award winners, read the ILA announcement here.
