Possible Delays for New Materials

Baker & Taylor, a major book distributor for almost 200 years, will be closing in the coming months. Like many libraries, we've relied on them as our main vendor for new books and materials.

What this means:

You may notice some delays in seeing new releases and popular titles on our shelves over the next few weeks. Our staff is working quickly to order materials through our other vendors and prioritizing high-demand titles.

New books are still coming! It may just take a little longer than usual. We've been preparing for this change and have established relationships with other vendors to make sure you still have access to the materials you love.

What you can do in the meantime:

  • Place holds early. Know a new release is coming? Visit the catalog and place your hold now to get your spot in line.
  • Explore our digital library. Many new titles are available right away through our online collections like Cloud Library and Hoopla.
  • Try something new. This is a great time to try a new author, genre, or format — ask our staff for recommendations!

This is a big change affecting libraries and the book industry nationwide, and we understand it may be frustrating. We're eager to get those long-awaited new releases into your hands, too. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this change together.
