Renovation Updates

The renovations on the second floor are expected to finish by January 2026.

The Sound Studio's iMac with Adobe Creative Cloud and digitizing equpiment are available by reservation.

Makerspace equipment is not available at this time. 

We will be busy early 2026 installing new equipment and training staff. We will provide a re-opening date for the new makerspace as soon as it is available. Read more about our renovation and projected timeline. 

About the Studios

The Creative & Sound Studios are a do-it-yourself creative space for music production, digitization, crafting, digital art, and other maker projects! 

  • Creative Studio: A makerspace with a 3D printer, sewing machine, electronic cutters, and more. 
    • As part of our ongoing construction project, this equipment is unavailable in early 2026 as we prepare for reopening. 
  • Sound Studio: A digital media lab with the full Adobe Creative Suite, sound recording equipment, and digital converting equipment. 

Guidelines

  • Addison Public Library cardholders can book the Sound Studio up to 7-days in advance.
    • Editing software, VHS-to-MP4 converter, and photo scanners are installed for use.
    • All other digital converting equipment must be requested and arranged before your visit.  
  • The Library may reserve the Creative & Sound Studios and equipment for programs, appointments, and staff trainings.
  • Requests for 3D Printing and Poster Printing can be submitted online.
  • Patrons must book an appointment to use Creative Studio equipment.   

Once you are ready to start a project, request an appointment. Library staff will respond within 5 business days.
