Our library has collected thousands of audiobooks, but over the past few years, we’ve added a newer format to our audio collection: the Playaway.

A new year brings all sorts of new things. In my case, every new year I make a goal for myself that I then have the year to work on. In 2022, my goal was to improve my drawing skills. I’m still trying to figure out what 2023’s goal will be. Here are some great options if you want to make learning a skill your new year goal.

While we’ve always owned horror books, we’ve added a new collection to our shelves: horror novels, which you can find in between the Crime and Romance collections on the second floor! As a big fan of horror novels, I’d like to get you started with some of the rising stars in horror fiction over the past 5+ years with these author recommendations.

I want to learn everything! I have always loved other languages ever since I was learning to read and discovered Spanish for the first time. If your little one is like me, they might enjoy learning a new language. A great way for kids to do this, as well as practice a language they already know, is with the online resource Muzzy Club.

We all have things we like to do in our free time. One of my favorite things to do is to eat and one of my favorite things to eat is a homecooked meal. This makes things a little harder as I am the one that has to cook it and I am not a master chef. Something that has really helped me is the cookbooks that we have at the library.
