Starting Sat., Nov. 25, pick up a Shop Small neighborhood map from the library or from our participating businesses. The Addison Public Library is open today, Friday, September 15, 2023, after a second threat of violence this week prompted an emergency evacuation. Both threats this week were determined to be unfounded by law enforcement, and all patrons, staff, and community members are safe.

The Addison Public Library was temporarily closed on September 12, 2023, due to a bomb threat received via our chat service around 2:00 p.m. Thank you to the extensive efforts and immediate response of the Addison Police Department and the DuPage County Bomb Squad, the library has since reopened and is safe for all to return.

Debbie Spacko’s story starts like many Americans: in April 2020, she was furloughed from her job as a customer service representative. Networking soon led Spacko to the Addison Public Library’s job seeker services in the fall of 2020 after the library’s resources were shared at an event. She signed up for the Getting Addison Back to Work program and later used her new skills to land a great new job.
