How soon can I expect my items to be ready for pickup?
There will be a delay in items being ready for pickup since returned items will be quarantined for three days. Patrons should wait until they receive a notification letting them know when their items are ready for pickup. Patrons will receive an email or mailed notice when their items are ready.
I received my notification that my items are ready for pickup, what is the next step?
Please call one hour before your arrival with your library card number so that staff can checkout and prepare your items.
Can I have someone else pick up my items?
Yes, upon arrival staff will ask for the name of the person for whom the items were checked out to.
Can I walk up to the front doors and pick up my items, if I won't arrive by car?
Yes, just let staff at the kiosk know and we will be out shortly with your items.
I arrived at the library and parked in a designated spot; how do I notify staff?
Text the number on the sign and wait for the prompt. From the prompt you can either click on the link or enter the word "BOOK" to start the chat. This will notify staff that you have arrived with your name and parking spot number.
You may also call the main number 630.543.3617 and let Guest Services staff know that you've arrived.
What if I called and had my items checked out but couldn't make it that same day to pick them up? Will my items still be waiting for me the next day?
Yes, but patrons will lose a day on their loan period.
Where can I return my items?
Patrons must return items through the drive-up book drop slots located on the east side of the building. The only exception is oversized items or Library of Things that do not fit through the book drop.
Once the building is open, patrons can return their items through the automated machines with the exception of oversized items which can be returned at the Guest Services desk.
